In the Studio with Andrea Finck

In this series of “in the studio with” we have the great chance to discover the universe of talented Andrea Finck!

Studio

My studio is outside my living area, but I have only a few steps….
It used to be used for agriculture, now we use it together as a storage room and I use it as a studio. The large windows are ideal, so lots of light can stream in during the day. I like to call it the “summer studio” because it definitely gets too cold to work here in the winter.

New artworks

Lately I have painted a lot of abstract landscapes, they often had to do with water and sea, inspired by the Elbe and the North Sea here nearby. About a small swing to informal art I would now like to deal again more with plants and floral patterns, gladly also activating my printing press. My expressive painting style, however, I will certainly remain true. In addition, I would also like to finish unfinished pictures, such as the self-portrait, which is visible in the upper left of the photo.

Inspirations

Nature is the great inspiration for my painting. But I also like to go to exhibitions and galleries to get new inspiration from great artists. Here are then often not the motifs decisive, but also their technique and materials used. For example, the French artist NIEVES S., who was represented in the Salzburg Galerie Welz at the end of last year, inspired me to paint on wood. But I am also inspired by artists from Balthasart. So I find the way Luigi Iona paints and places his figures very interesting and comes very close to the completion of my self-portrait mentioned above. I also quite like the works of Nita Loves, especially the pink paintings are a good inspiration for my newly started “floral phase”.
